Lori began practicing Pilates 17 years ago when she was pregnant with her second child. She felt noticeable changes in her body and especially felt the benefit of Pilates when she gave birth to her son. Lori is an avid runner, having run several marathons. Pilates has improved her running by increasing core strength, as well as balancing strength and flexibility in her upper and lower body.

Lori completed extensive training and teaching courses in 2008 through Body Arts and Science International, which is headquartered in Los Angeles. During her training, she logged over 500 hours of teaching and observation. Lori recently completed an 18-month program and received her Masters in Pilates Training through Nancy Hurd's Discover * Move * Inspire Program. Additionally, Lori has completed CEC courses on Wunda Chair Progressions, Functional Anatomy, and Pilates for Men.

As an athlete, Lori likes a challenging workout, as well as the therapeutic benefits of Pilates. Lori is sensitive to the needs of each individual client and tailors each session to her client's goals and bodies, while still making it a fun workout.

Alayna is a lover of movement. Throughout high school, her family always found her in the living room trying any workout video she could get her hands on. Kathy Smith's workout videos were her first introduction to pilates, and she discovered the rehabilitative aspects of pilates when taking mat and reformer classes in college helped her recover from a back injury she sustained while working on her B.F.A in dance at Belhaven University. Her time dancing also provided connections with the GYROTONIC world, and she was instantly hooked to the flow and challenge of the movement.

Not one to take things slowly, Alayna started her apprenticeships simultaneously in both pilates and GYROTONIC at CORE Therapy and Pilates in 2017. During her time working there, she gained experience in working with a diverse clientele, helping clients progress through disc injuries and shoulder injuries, spondylolisthesis, and diastasis. In 2018 she started studying with Amanda Vernor to complete a classical Pilates certification as well, furthering her depth of understanding of pilates.

She loves to challenge her clients without letting them sacrifice technique and hopes to help them experience the joy that movement can bring. In her spare time you can find her cooling off at Barton Springs, swing dancing at the Tex Fed, or diving deeper into her own pilates and GYROTONIC practice.
